Pharmaceutical Drop Off Location
In recent years the EPA and others have found pharmaceuticals in treated wastewater, streams and lakes. At this time, studies to determine acceptable levels in the environment are in the early phases and regulatory standards have not been developed. Due to this citizens should not dispose of these products in sinks, toilets, storm drains or natural water courses.
Every second Thursday of the month, from 2-3 pm, Floyd Memorial Hospital accepts prescription medication to dispose. Any questions regarding this service can be directed to John Hodge at 812-944-7701.
